2 Sherl Palmer-Ball distant past President of Louisville Downtown
3 Bob Breverman from Prospect/Goshen
Door Prizes:
David Pearson (ball cap in the right colors donated by D.A. Sachs) and Jeff Echelberger (an "assortment of candy" donated by Big Al Crumes)
Bull led us in singing of God Bless America
Happy Bucks:
Cliff Travis is very happy to have moved from Shelbyville Road and his "old association" to Middletown and Marty was happy for his "happy divorce"; Bull gave an "un happy" buck because he had to replace his AC unit. Louise was happy to have seen Larry Cobb who indicated he may be coming back to the club; Ramsey (that's right, our long lost member) was happy that he got a good report from his doctor after last years bain surgery and that he has become mason so that he can be a clown for Kosair (he showed off his latest magic trick).
Fine Master:
Cliff was back and promptly fined Ramsey for his card depicting "Poopsie" the clown, he also fined him for May news articles about his retirement and becoming a clown (Cliff has been saving up for Ramsey since he has not been around much). Cliff also fined D.A. for his picture with friends at the track and in an attempt to "bury the hatchet" with Louise after fining her for being in the latest issue of Sophisticated Living, he presented her with a bottle of wine bottled just for her with the back label stating "bitch, bitch, bitch". The club waited to see what Louise was dragging from her purse (was it a gun?), no she pulled out a $100 bill which Mike Miller made note of as being very generous but Louise said she wanted her $99 in change.
Announcements:
1 Zoo concerts Cheryl did not get 10 people signed up therefore no discount tickets but she will "stick to her ground" with a Rotary sign for anybody that shows up to find her.
2 Tony Bellucci was not in attendance but don't forget to sign up to help. Cheryl and Marty met with St. Matthews Elementary principal to get things underway for this year. Marty noted that a big thanks goes to Therese Crumes who is sending out 250 letters to potential sponsors from St. Matthews. D.A has secured the sasuage for the pancake breakfast from Purnells (thats goooooooood).
Program:
Cheryl introduced Bob Mueller from Hospice who spoke to us about his ten ways to get the most out of life. First he again thanked our club for the $1,000 donation which is much needed. He was also glad to be back to speak to us. He reminded us that he is the only male columnist in Today's Woman and won their "Man of the Year" award last year.
His top 10 list
1 Be responsible, not a victum
2 Remember the power of hope and look for good quotes to start the day
3 Remember to have boundaries; Say "I just can not" instead of overloading
4 Take a "vacation" every day; take some time for yourself
5 Notice things that bug you so that you don't "blow up" when they happen
6 Focus on your Blessings
7 Be present in your life every day (concentrate on the 4 dimensions of your life: Length, breath, depth, height)
8 Have a sense of humor
9 Keep learning
