Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT – INTERNATIONAL

The mission of Rotary International is to assist and guide Rotarians and Rotary clubs to accomplish the Object of Rotary, to ensure Rotary’s continued relevance, and to help build a better world, emphasizing service activities by individuals and groups that enhance the quality of life and human dignity, encouraging high ethical standards, and creating greater understanding among all people to advance the search for peace in the world.

MISSION STATEMENT – ROTARY CLUB OF ST. MATTHEWS

The mission of Rotary Club of St. Matthews is to support and comply with the principles of Rotary International and accomplish the Object of Rotary, to help build a better community through service activities that enhance the quality of life for infants, children and senior citizens, and support international projects that promotes human dignity and advances world peace.

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.  It also encourages:

• The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
• High ethical standards in business and professions, recognizing the worthiness of all useful occupations and dignifying each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity of service;
• The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business,and community life;
• The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
